Identification:

   SCIOCFG.EXE Version 5.1 06/18/2003

Spectrum I/O Configuration Tool for Windows.

SCIOCFG.EXE Is a utility to help users configure Spectrum I/O modules.
This utility was designed to run under Microsoft Windows 9X, Windows NT,
   Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

   SCIOCFG.EXE supports Concept versions 2.1 through 2.6.

Note that versions 2.1 through 2.5 use the .MDC files in the directory:
     "A:\CONCEPT"

Versions 2.6 requires the use of .MDC files in the directory. (Group Schneider
implemented new fields in the .MDC files for version 2.6 of Concept that are
not backward compatible with previous versions):
     "A:\CONCEPT\Concept 2.6 and above"

Concept is a product of Group Schneider protected by copyright.
Windows is a registered trademark of the Microsoft Corporation.

Modules Supported:

   SCIOCFG supports the following modules.

   MODICON TSX Quantum I/O:

140-AVI-050-00SC 32 channel analog voltage input.
140-ACI-050-00SC 32 channel analog current input.
      140-ACI-051-00SC 32 channel analog voltage/current input.
140-ACI-052-00SC 32 channel analog voltage/current input with alarms.
140-AUI-040-00SC 16 channel universal analog input.
      140-EHC-208-00SC 8 channel counter/flow meter.
      140-EHC-204-00SC 4 channel counter/flow meter.
140-MPC-204-00SC 4 channel meter prover module.

Abstract:

This tool is intended to make the process of using third party modules
supplied by Spectrum Controls easy to configure when using Concept.

The Concept programming software does not currently provide a means for
third party I/O developers to design their own I/O configuration menus.
Instead, Concept provides a generic interface where the user must enter
configuration parameters in hexidecimal values. The Spectrum I/O modules
are designed to be feature rich with an efficient use of registers. This
requires the user to be intimately aware of the initialization parameters
structure in order to perform simple I/O configuration changes. SCIOCFG
is designed to relieve the user of this burden.

SCIOCFG presents the user with user friendly selection lists using
standard Windows interfaces. SCIOCFG also automatically constains all
parameters to legal values during the data entry process.

SCIOCFG may be run in one of two modes, stand alone mode, or synchronous
mode. In the standalone mode, the user configures the data for a given
module as desired. SCIOCFG then presents the parameters in hexidecimal
values so the user may then manually transfer this data to Concept at a
   later time.

In the synchronous mode, SCIOCFG runs in the background waiting for the
the user to select the generic I/O parameters configuration menu for any
one of the modules supported. When this occurs, SCIOCFG reads the data
from the Concept generic I/O parameter configuration menu, and activates
the appropriate I/O parameter configuration menu. When the user quits
SCIOCFG with an OK, the new data is sent back to Concept.

Note, when running under Windows 2000 or XP SCIOCFG may not pop-up over
Concept. Instead, its taskbar icon will blink indicating to the user that
they should click on it to gain focus. These versions of Windows do not
allow applications to take focus over applications not launched by the
   programs requesting focus.

.MDC File Installation:
  For Concept 2.1 through 2.5:
    1) Start Concept ModConnect Tool
    2) From "File" Menu select "Open Installation File"
    3) Select A:\CONCEPT\SPECTRUM.MDC.
    4) Press "Add all" button.
    5) Close program. Save changes before exit.

  For Concept 2.6 and above:
    1) Start Concept ModConnect Tool
    2) From "File" Menu select "Open Installation File"
    3) Select A:\CONCEPT\Concept 2.6 and above\SPECTRUM.MDC.
    4) Press "Add all" button.
    5) Close program. Save changes before exit.

SCIOCFG.EXE Installation:

Installation of SCIOCFG.EXE is simple. Copy the SCIOCFG.EXE file
from the installation disk to the desired directory. Then you may
add a shortcut to the windows desktop or add the program to the
windows taskbar using standard windows techniques.

To add a short cut (Assuming installation in "C:\SCIOCFG"):

     1. Place the mouse cursor on an open area of the windows desktop.
     2. Click the right mouse button.
     3. Select the "New" option.
     4. Select the "Shortcut" option.
     5. Enter the full install pathname. E.G. C:\SCIOCFG\SCIOCFG.EXE

Note: The user may optionally configure SCIOCFG to always run
in either the stand alone mode or the synchronous mode.
To do this, place a space and one of the following strings
              immeditately after the full pathname:

              NO_SYNC
              SYNC_WITH_CONCEPT

              E.G. C:\SCIOCFG\SCIOCFG.EXE SYNC_WITH_CONCEPT

     6. Name as desired.
     7. Activate the "Finish" button.

To add to Windows Programs Selections or Folder:

     1. Click and hold the left mouse button on the taskbar start button.
     2. Select "Settings", "Taskbar" and release the mouse button.
     3. Select the "Start Menu Programs" tab index.
     4. Press the Add button.
     5. Choose an existing folder (perhaps the Concept programming folder)
or create a new folder to hold SCIOCFG.EXE.
     6. Add SCIOCFG.EXE as described for adding shortcuts step 5.

   SCIOCFG is ready to run.
